This key profile was used with the following JAGUAR car models in the table below:

PLEASE NOTE THE OTHER VERSION OF THIS KEY (JAU-2.P) LOOKS VERY SIMILAR- BUT IS SHORTER IN THE SHANK AND HAS LESS PINS SO THE CUT SECTION IS ALSO SMALLER

This key is quite unique being cut on 4 sides and is know as a Tibbe key. We use a very special machine to cut your new key using the code of the original rather than copying the worn key you get a brand new key with the exact dimensions it had from the factory, so even if your key is very worn we can definitely help. 

This key profile is a JMA JAU-1.P and has the same key blade as a Silca TBE1T5.

In the case of the models listed above, they use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

The main security element in modern car, van or motorcycle keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most modern remote keys or flip keys there are 2 main elements, the remote control which often just opens the doors and the transponder chip which holds encrypted security information that allows the vehicle to start with the key is placed in the ignition where this information can be read by the vehicle's computer.

Having even a manual key as a spare can save a lot of stress and expense later and is much cheaper then having a spare remote key or flip key.
