Mazda 121 - 1997-2001 models, compatible car key cut & transponder cloned

This key profile was used with Mazda 121 models built between 1995 and 2001. The early models (1995 & 1996) did not have transponders in the key head and so no transponder is needed for those and the cost for a key like this will be only $25 (see Silca FO21P). Transponder chips were used in the 121 model from 1997.

This key is quite unique being cut on 4 sides and is commonly known as a Ford Tibbe key. We use a very special machine to cut your new key using the code of the original rather than copying the worn key you get a brand new key with the exact dimensions it had from the factory, so even if your key is very worn we can definitely help. 

This key profile is a JMA FO-6.P and has the same key blade as a Silca FO 21 or the Orion code S30 FD. There are a number of Silca blanks that match this key and these include FO21AP, FO21FH, FO21MH, FO21P (NO TRANSPONDER), FO21T17, FO21T3, FO21T3M, FO21T17 & FO21TE, 

The key profile was also used with a number of Jaguar models and a very long list of Ford models.

In the case of the model listed above, it use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

The main security element in modern car, van or motorcycle keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most modern remote keys or flip keys there are 2 main elements, the remote control which often just opens the doors and the transponder chip which holds encrypted security information that allows the vehicle to start with the key is placed in the ignition where this information can be read by the vehicle's computer.

Having even a manual key as a spare can save a lot of stress and expense later and is much cheaper then having a spare remote key or flip key.
