Mitsubishi Challenger Pajero Space Wagon Triton compatible car key MIT-12.P2 cut & transponder cloned

This key profile was used with the following of Mitsubishi models: 

This key profile is a JMA MIT-12.P2 and has the same key blade as a Silca MIT8 or the Orion code MS8. There are a couple of Silca blanks that match this key and these include MIT8FH, MIT8MH, MIT8-PT, MIT8T19, MIT8T21, MIT8T4 & MIT8TE.

There is a 2nd version of this profile in the JMA range which has a wider key head shape. That is the MIT-12.P and the keys blades are identical. 

There is also a non transponder version of this key which in Silca is the MIT8AP.

Many of the vehicles listed above started life with a separate remote and key and then changed to an integrated remote key in the early 2000's. We offer both genuine and aftermarket options for most of these remote keys also but a manual transponder key such as this offers a cheap option for a spare key. 

In the case of the models listed above, they use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

The main security element in modern car, van or motorcycle keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most modern remote keys or flip keys there are 2 main elements, the remote control which often just opens the doors and the transponder chip which holds encrypted security information that allows the vehicle to start with the key is placed in the ignition where this information can be read by the vehicle's computer.

Having even a manual key as a spare can save a lot of stress and expense later and is much cheaper then having a spare remote key or flip key.
