This 3 button aftermarket remote key can be used with the following Subaru models in the table below:

The information in the table above is intented as a guide only. You may find that you use a key which looks identical to this one but your vehicle is not listed. If so, feel free to email us a photo of your key and the detaqils of your vehicle (YEAR - MAKE - MODEL - VIN) and we will assist you to select the correct item.

This key profile is a JMA SUB-2.P2 and has the same key blade as a Silca DAT 17.

The remote part of this key can be coded manually to your vehicle follwoing the instructions provided but the transponder chip can only be coded to the vehicle using specialist diagnostic equipment by a licensed locksmith, auto electrician or some mechanics.

Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes and up to 45 minutes for certain keys to be cut & coded.

The main security element in modern car keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes of cars from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the car ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most remote keys the remote and transponder are separate items with the remote simply opening the doors and the transponder being the security. As a cheap alternative to having 2 remote keys, if you simply want a spare key, a transponder key without a remote can save you a lot of dollars.

It is always a good idea to program the remote part of your key before you get the blade cut or the transponder programmed. If the remote programming fails you can then return the item without any issues.

WARNING! KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Never allow children to replace button batteries on any device. Swallowing or placing a button cell battery inside any part of the body may lead to severe or fatal injuries in as little as 2 hours or less due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

If you suspect your child has swallowed a button battery or placed inside any part of the body, immediately call the POISONS INFORMATION CENTRE on 13 11 26 for prompt advice. If your child is having any difficulty breathing, contact 000.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
