Toyota Tarago & Estima 4 button triangle shaped key shell with lock unlock boot and or slide door

This newer triangle shape 2nd generation remote key is used with Toyota models featuring a remote operated auto power sliding side door feature such as some of the Toyota Tarago & Toyota Estima models but may also be sued with other models as long as your key matches this one.

This one has a TOY 43 key profile which is by far the most commonly used Toyota key blade profile.

This key shell comes with an additional button so it can be configured with either 2 slide door buttons or 1 slide door and a boot release button depending on your original key's set up. This makes the shell very versatile covering both options.

We know that key shells can brake but don't replace your entire remote key just because the case or shell has broken away from the key blade. This top quality replacement 4 button remote key shell will allow you to swap over the remote module and transponder chip from your broken key to a new case and once the blade it cut to match you will essentially have a new key.

Please note the transponder chip in this type of key is usually super glued into the shell and so great care should be taken when swapping it over in to the new shell. If you damage the transponder chip and you do not have another key it can be a very expensive exercise.

To open the 2nd generation key shell you will notice a small slot in the case on the key ring loop. It measures about 6 mm wide. Using a small flat blade screw driver, place the bade of the screw driver in this slot and gently twist it and the case will pop open.

We generally clone the transponder and place the cloned chip into the new shell leaving the old chip in the old shell to avoid any issues. This old key can then be kept as a spare to copy from should you lose the new one.

If you come into our East Victoria Park shop we will be happy to cut the key, clone a new chip, swap over your case and test your battery, while you wait. It is always best to have the car present when getting the key cut so it can be properly tested.

If you do not live close by you can of course order this key shell and take it to your local key cutting shop and have them cut the blade to match your existing key. Then you can swap the remote module into the new shell and you are up and running.

There are lots of cheap key shells on the market and we have tested lots of other brands but this key shell made by JMA from Spain is definitely the best quality replacement we have tested. The machining of the key blade is very exact and so the key works well once it is cut correctly. A variance of even as little as 0.01mm can make a huge difference to how well a key works and so it is vital to get your key cut at a reputable key cutter who regularly calibrates their key machine.
