This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

For this key it should be 271451-0140. If you bring your key into our shop we can also scan the transponder chip and check the remote frequency to confirm it matches this one.

Even if the back of your remote case has the above detail it is still advisable to confirm the circuit board id as this is the deinitive identifyer as the case may have been replaced at some point. If you are not sure you can send us a photo of the front and back of the circuit board inside your current smart key and we will assist you to identify the correct replacement.

IMPORTANT: 271451-0140 remote circuit board can be used in either 2 button, 3 button or 4 button configuration depending on the vehicle it is being used with.

The smart key is supplied with the emergency key blade included but if you need a spare or replacement you can find them under compatible items.

This type of smart key is also sometimes referred to as a proximity key or prox key as it allows you to start the vehicle without having to put it in a slot or put a key in the ignition.

This type of smart key can only be coded to your vehicle using specialist diagnostic tools by a licensed locksmith or vehicle repairer. We can code the smart key and cut your key in our shop in East Victoria Park WA or you can have it done locally to where you live.

Coding a spare or extra key to this type of Toyota vehicle ir pretty straigth foward but if you lose your only key the process becomes more complicated and far more expensive so we strongly advise you to always make sure you have a spare key for your Toyota.
