This end cap covers the emergency key blade when it is not in use on Nissan smart twish key remote keys used on Dualis J10 & Pathfinder R51 models.
The end cap is a genuine Nissan part 285E3-BC40A

This end cap or key cover fits onto the end of the Nissan smart twist key remote 285E3-4X00A as used with Nissan Dualis J10 2007 - 2013 & Pathfinder R51 2005 - 2013. It covers the emergency key blade when it is folded into the body of the remote. These caps are often lost or broken and so hence we sell this item on its own of you can purchase it with the key blade and remote as a complete set.
The emergency key is only needed if the battery in the remote stops working and so you can no longer use the smart key functions and must start the vehicle using the key barrell in the twist part of the ignition.
To remove the end cap, slide the button on the side of the end cap adn push the cap in the direction of the arrow on the front of the end cap.
