This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

This type of smart key is also sometimes referred to as a proximity key or prox key as it allows you to start the vehicle without having to put it in a slot or put a key in the ignition.

The emergency key blade and battery is included in the price and if you need a spare you can order this under compatible items.

Your original smart key may or may not feature the red panic button, this is not a problem. As long as the chip and remote type match this smart key can be coded to your vehicle.

Coding and extra key when you have a working key is not a problem, however if you loose your only smart key, then the cost and complexity of the process escalate dramatically. It is not uncommon for customers to be charged up to $5000 by the dealer to resolve the issue when all keys are lost. Having a spare key for your Toyota is essential if you want to avoid a very large bill and the prospect of being without your vehicle for up to 3 weeks.

This type of smart key can only be coded to your vehicle using specialist diagnostic tools by a licensed locksmith or vehicle repairer. We can code the smart key and cut your key in our shop in East Victoria Park WA or you can have it done locally to where you live.
