Mini Cooper R50 2002 - 2007 2 button remote key 433 MHz PCF7935 EWS chip

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

The remote in this type of Mini Cooper key requires a specific code for each individual remote when coding it to the vehicle and so comes with a barcode type sticker including this code as shown in the photos. The remote must be coded to the vehicle using special diagnostic equipment and we can do this for you or you can have it done near where you live.

Coding a new key can generally only be done if you have a key already and so losing your only key can end in a very very expensive exercise to get a new one coded to your vehicle.

We strongly reccomend you always have a spare key for your vehicle.

This remote transmits on 433 MHz ASK as do most MINI models in Australia but we have seen a few exceptions to this rule where the remote transmitted on 315Mhz.

The key is supplied with a battery fitted to the remote and a uncoded PCF7935 - EWS transponder chip also.

This key features a round button with the symbol for LOCK & an oval button which is used for UNLOCK and would normally heature the Landrover logo.

This key blade matches the Silca HU92 profile as is widely used on BMW cars. 

This key can only be coded to the vehicle using a diagnostic tool when at least 1 key is available. We can do this and cut the key blade at our workshop in East Victoia Park W.A. or you can have it done by your local licensed locksmith.
