This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

High quality aftermarket 3 button round remote key for your Mini Cooper. As long as your original remote looks identical to this one it can be coded to your vehicle. Does not suit F Chassis models.

This type of key is known as a slot key as it is placed in a slot in the dash to allow the vehicle to function. Unlike the genuine keys the battery in this fob can be replaced where as the original genuine keys had a sealed remote using a rechargable battery and once that battery died you have to replace the key.

The vast majority of Mini Cooper vehicles use a CAS 3++ ISTAP CAS module and so to safely add a key to the vehicle the CAS modeule data must first be backed up. Then the key can be programmed in a process called "ON BENCH". To access the CAS module can take around 45 minutes and it takes around the same amount of time to re-fit it.

So we can code your new key to your car but please call and book an appointment as this can take up to 2.5 hours in total and if you have not booked you may end up waiting while we complete other jobs that have booked an appointment.

The photos shows what the new key will look like and generally it will not feature the Mini logo on the front of the case, as we can not often get these cases. However we will do our best to supply the key you would prefer and if you would only like the case with the logo we will do our level best to source it at the time.

We do sell replacement cases for ththis type of key and so if the key & remote still work but the case is damaged we can swap that over for you.
