This type of smart key is also sometimes referred to as a proximity key or prox key as it allows you to start the vehicle without having to put it in a slot or put a key in the ignition.

The electronic tailgate function of this key will only work with vehciles which were factory fitted with that functionality. If your original proximity remote does not have the book button symbol like this one then that function is most likely not active on your vehicle.

The emergency key blade is NOT included in the price and so if you need one, you can order this under compatible items.

Coding and extra key when you have a working key is not a problem, however if you loose your only smart key, then the cost and complexity of the process escalate dramatically. It is not uncommon for customers to be charged up to $5000 by the dealer to resolve the issue when all keys are lost. Having a spare key for your Toyota is essential if you want to avoid a very large bill and the prospect of being without your vehicle for up to 3 weeks.

This type of smart key can only be coded to your vehicle using specialist diagnostic tools by a licensed locksmith or vehicle repairer. We can code the smart key and cut your key in our workshop in East Victoria Park WA or you can have it done locally to where you live.

We charge $90 to code this type of smart keyand cut the key blade if we have supplied the remote and key. You will need to call to make an appointment.
