Jaguar F-Type F-Pace XJ XF & XE compatible 5 button proximity remote key

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

OEM spec Jaguar 5 button smart proximity remote key to suit the Jaguar models listed below.

This key uses the ID49 HITAG-PRO type proximity transponder. If you open the side chrome section following the instructions in the photos attached you should see the part number engraved on the emergency key holder. feel free to send us a photo of that part number.

Programming the key to the vehicle will depend on the type of KVM fitted to the vehicle. Some models can be programmed using diagnostic tools conected to the OBD port of the vehicle but most models manufactured after 2013 will require the KVM to be removed and programmed using a bench process. The cost for both types of programming are listed under compatible items.

The inforamtion in the table above is instended to be used as a reference only. You may have a key that looks identical to this one but is being used with a vehicle from a year ot listed. This may be becase it is using a different type transponder chip in the key you have. The only way to know 100% for sure is for us to scan the key you have to see the transponder type.

The key comes with a battery fitted and with a blank aftermarket emergency key blade inside which can be used to open the car door if the remote battery becomes flat. The emergency key will need to be cut to match your original key.

The remote has 5 buttons for LOCK - UNLOCK - LIGHTS - BOOT - PANIC ALARM.

This type of key is called a proximity or smart key as it allows you to start the engine while the key is still in your pocket. Should the battery in the key run out you can still open the vehicle using the emergency key blade and you can start the car by placing the back of the remote against the centre of the plastic cover on the steering column. 

Coding a new key can easily be done if you have a key already and so losing your only key can end in a very very expensive exercise to get a new one coded to your vehicle if you no longer have a working key.

We strongly reccomend you always have a spare key for your vehicle and keep it in a secure and safe place.

This key can only be coded to the vehicle using a diagnostic tool when at least 1 key is available. We can do this and cut the key blade at out store in East Victoia Park in Perth or you can have it done by your local licensed locksmith.

This key features the HU101 key blade profile which is cut using a milling type key machine often referred to as a wave cut or laser cut. Please see the attached photos to understand how to open the battery and emergency key compartments on your key.

From 2013 onward the vast majority of Jaguar vehicles had an update to the KVM (keyless vehicle management) module which prevents even the dealer from adding a spare key to the vehicle using OBD devices. If your vehicle is 2013 or later we advise that the KVM version is checked before a diagnostic tool is used to code a spare smart key as trying to code one to a vehicle using the FK72 KVM can damage the vehicle and end up costing considerable amounts of money.
