Jeep Grand Cherokee 2 button ID46 chip proximity fobik PCF7953 keyless go

This style of key is known as a proximity fobik key.

This type key WILL work with the push button start function as long as the vehicle is fitted with factory push button start and is using an ID46 type fobik shape key.

As a spare you can have the cheaper fobik twist type key. You need to understand that if you lose the proximity key then to use the fobik twist key type key you must press the unlock button on the remote to enter the vehicle. To start the vehicle you will need to pull off the push button start button and you will see the slot where the key must be placed to turn the ignition on. 

It is described as a 2 button even though it also has the red PANIC button. It does not matter if your original key has this panic button or not as long as it matches the other features of this one.

This key has a LOCK & UNLOCK buttons.

The key uses an ID46 PCF7953 Keless Go transponder. This type of key has the large proximity antenna on the circuit board as shown in the photos.

THIS KEY IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE JEEP CHEROKEE OR JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT AS THAT KEY USES AN ID4A HITAG-AES PCF7961M  TRANSPONDER CHIP.

The remote comes with a battery already fitted. The remote transmits on 433.92 MHz.

As this is a non-genuine part there is no logo on the back of the remote case. This proximity fobik remote key can also be used with some Chrysler & Dodge models also.

This remote and transponder chip can only be coded to the vehicle using special diagnostic equipment by a licensed repairer or locksmith. We can do this in store for you or you can have it done locally where you live.

WARNING! KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Never allow children to replace button batteries on any device. Swallowing or placing a button cell battery inside any part of the body may lead to severe or fatal injuries in as little as 2 hours or less due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
