BMW F Chassis compatible 3 button smart key shell with blue highlight

This new style BMW key is used with F Chassis models only and has been in use since around 2014 on most models but as early as 2009 on selected models.

This style key comes in both 3 button and 4 button versions so please take case to check your key does not have a 4th button with a diamond symbol on it as this case will not suit if it does.

There are 3 colour highlights used in this style key and any of those will fit just fine in this case as long as your key is definitely the same style and have the same number of buttons.

We have seen many of these cases which are damaged when people try to change the battery and do not know the correct method to access the battery so the pry open the case along the side seams. As you will see from the photos there is a specific battery cover on the back of the key. 

Top open this battery cover you should first remove the emergency key blade. Then using the tip of the key blade, push it into the small slot next to the loop on the end of the remote. This will push up the catch on the battery cover and it should pop open.

It is vital you take great care when handling the electronics from inside your old key as any damage may render the key useless and may end up costing you hundreds of dollars for a new one.

If you are not sure about swapping over the case yourself you can bring it into our workshop and we will swap it over for you. This takes about 30 minutes in total and we charge $50 for this service.

While this case is designed to snap together we advise using some plastic contact glue to secure the case. 

DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE TO SECURE YOUR CASE - IT WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE METALIC CONTACTS ON THE PCB
