VW Passat 3C0 959 752 BG 3 button proximity smart key ID46 PCF7936 type

This VW proximity key was used with VW Passat models from 2004 to 2016 predominatly. This key is suited to models that have proximity start or keyless go functions activated. This is also referred to as KESSY function.

THIS IS A FULL PROXIMITY KEY - ONLY WORKS WITH VEHICLES WITH KESSY FUNCTION WHERE CAR CAN BE STARTED WITHOUT THE KEY BEING IN THE SLOT.

Vehicles with full proximity fuction can be opened & started while the key is in your bag or pocket. The NON-proximity version of this key uses an ID48 Megamos Crypto based transponder system. This key uses the far less common ID46 PCF7936 Keyless Go transponder system which allows you to open & start the vehicle with the key in your pocket or handbag.

If your vehicle has full proximity function this key will work with it. If you have to put your key in the dash slot to start your car then you will need to select the non-proximity key matching the part number: 3C0 959 752 BA. 

This key will need to be programmed to the vehicle using special diagnostic programmer plugged into the vehicle. We are licensed to do this work here in WA. You can book an appointment at our East Victoria Park workshop on (08) 6110 2693.

We will need the vehicle for approx 45 - 60 minutes generally and you will need to book an appointment.

The key is supplied with a battery included and additional spare batteries can be purchased under compatible items.

The emergency keyblade in this key is made of plastic and slides inside the body of the key. This key allows you to open the vehicle in the event that the battery in the remote is flat and so the remote will not open the vehicle.

Adding a key to a vehicle such as this when you have a working key is always going to be easier and of course much cheaper than if you have lost your only key. As a result it is highly advisable to always have a spare key.

This key is covered by a 12 month warranty like all our products.

WARNING! KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Never allow children to replace button batteries on any device. Swallowing or placing a button cell battery inside any part of the body may lead to severe or fatal injuries in as little as 2 hours or less due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
