Chrysler Crossfire ZH 2003 - 2008 models replacement remote flip key

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

In late 2017 Mercedes stopped making the replacement flip keys for many of the older model Mercedes vehicles and also for a  bunch of other flip keys including the Chrysler Crossfire which was based on the W170 Mercedes SLK platform. The Mercedes SLK series is often referred to as the R170 SLK but as the VIN in Australia started with a W and so is referred to as the W170 chassis here in Australia.

The Chrysler Crossfire was manufactured from 2003 to December 2007 and sold as models years 2004 - 2008. There was quite a few trim levels released including a Roadster, Coupe, SRT-6 and Limited editions of each with around 76,000 vehciles in total sold worldwide.

The main difference between the Chrysler Crossfire orignal key and that used on the Mercedes W170 SLK is the colour of the flip key body is Grey on the Crossfire key and it is black on the SLK key. They use the same transponder chip and remote circuit. 

This high quality OEM style flip key can be programmed to your vehicle as a spare or replacement flip key with all the functionality of the original key.

This flip key uses a PCF 7935 type transponder chip and the remote transmits on 315 MHz.

These early Mercedes flip keys are unlike most other remote flip keys in that they have an infra red lense at the end of the key that goes into the ignition. Programming a remote flip key like this can only be done with a very small number of specialist programmers. We carry out this work at our workshop in East Victoria Park in WA. We will need the vehcile for approx 1.5 hours as long as you have a working key. 

If you live in another part of Australia we will not be able to assist you sadly as we need to conect our programer to the vehicle to program the key and remote.
