Mercedes G Class W461 1997 - 2001 models replacement remote flip key

In late 2017 Mercedes stopped making the replacement flip keys for these older model Mercedes G Class vehicles on the W461 chassis as well as a bunch of other Mercedes flip keys.  The Mercedes G-Class is also sometimes referred to as the G-Wagon which is short for its german title Geländewagen.

Please note that even though the W461 chassis has been in production from 1992 to the present day this style flip key was only supplied on models made from 1997 to 2001. If you have a G-Class vehicle on the W461 from a different year please let us know and we will look into its compatiblity with this key.

THIS KEY WILL NOT WORK FOR VEHICLES WHICH WERE SOLD WITH A 1 BUTTON FLIP KEY

This high quality OEM style flip key can be programmed to your vehicle as a spare or replacement flip key with all the functionality of the original key as long as your vehicle originally had a 3 button remote flip key. Feel free to contact us if you own a W461 G-Class vehcile with a different type of key.

To identify if your vehicle is on the W461 chassis - look at the VIN for the vehicle and it should start as follow: 

W**461 where the only characters that matter is the W and the 168 - the * can be any letter

This flip key uses a PCF 7935 type transponder chip and the remote transmits on 315 MHz. 

THIS FLIP KEY FEATURES A RED PANIC BUTTON BUT IS STILL COMPATIBLE WITH MODELS WHICH DID NOT HAVE THIS BUTTON ON THE ORIGINAL KEY - SEE PHOTOS FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE ORIGINAL KEY

This flip key is unlike most other remote flip keys in that it has an infra red lense at the end of the key that goes into the ignition. Programming a remote flip key like this can only be done with a very small number of specialist programmers. We carry out this work at our workshop in East Victoria Park in WA. Please call to make an appointment in advance.

We will need the vehcile for approx 1.5 hours as long as you have a working key. 

If you live in another part of Australia we will not be able to assist you sadly as we need to conect our programer to the vehicle to program the key and remote.

WARNING! KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Never allow children to replace button batteries on any device. Swallowing or placing a button cell battery inside any part of the body may lead to severe or fatal injuries in as little as 2 hours or less due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
