Mongoose MRC8 remote for M8 &M8-24 security systems

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

Mongoose Australia are well know in the aftermarket car security market and this remote here is for one of their newest security systems the M8 or M8-24.

The remote is a sleek slimline design with LOCK - UNLOCK & BOOT/REMOTE START buttons.

The remote uses a CR2032 battery and has a red LED when any buttons are pressed. The remote comes with a battery already fitted and you can order extra batteries from the Compatible Items tab below.

There are no model numbers on the outher casing sadly but as you will see in the attached photos the circuit board has a few numbers printed on it including:

Adding a new remote to your system is pretty straight foraward. The steps to do this are detailed below:

To learn new remotes to M8 & M824  models:

1.  Turn the ignition key to the ON position
2.  Press and release the valet/programming switch 3 times (Siren Chirps)
3.  Press the Lock Button of each transmitter you want programmed until you hear a chirp from the siren.
4.  Press and release the valet/programming switch 1 time to advance to channel 2 UNLOCK. Press the unlock button of each transmitter you want to unlock the vehicle.
5.  Press and release the valet/programming switch 1 time to advance to channel 3 BOOT. Press the boot button of each transmitter you want to operate the boot release of the vehicle.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
