This transponder chip is very small measuring just: 11mm X 5.75mm X 3.7mm and will fit inside a standard transponder key.
Some cloning devices will read this chip incorrectly as being ID48. It is advisable to always use a licensed locksmith when getting keys for your car.
It is not user programmable and so can only be coded to the vehicle using special equipment and will generally need a manufacturer pin-code or security code for this process.
this type of transponder is very new interms of the technology in it and uses a very high level of encryption meaning it cannot currently be cloned or copied.
Without this chip in the key head of the key, the car will not start as this chip contains security information that the car looks for every time the ignition it turned to start the car.
The majority of traditional transpionder chips are sealed and completely weatherproof. This one has exposed circuitry and so it is advised to ensure it is kept away from liquids or moisture.
