BMW 5 series E60 & E61 2003 - 2010 compatible ID46 CAS2 315 MHz remote key

There are many very similar looking keys used on BMW vehicles. It is vital that you check all the notes to ensure you are ordering the correct item. 

This key has an integrated ID46 transponder chip which suits CAS 2 based vehicles only. The remote transmits on 315 MHz as it is designed for vehciles that were sald new in Australia.

CHECK THE BACK OF YOUR ORIGINAL KEY - IT MUST SAY 315 MHz SIEMENS VDO 5WK4 7991

Many of the BMW keys which look the same as this one will be for EWS based immobiliser systems and so are not compatible with this key. 

Check the VIN sticker on your vehicle carefully. If it says PERSONALLY IMPORTED VEHICLE then your key will not match Australian models. 

Next check the back of your key, if you can still read the details see if it says 315 MHz.

Next pop into our workshop and we can scan your key to confirm if it is using and EWS chip of an ID46 chip.

It is important to note that the genuine BMW keys are sealed and the battery in them is rechargable so it cannot be replaced. This aftermarket version has a standard CR2032 battery which can be replaced.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
