Toyota TOY48 key shell with 2 button on side of shell

Japanese imported Toyota vehicles have increased in popularity over the last few years and this had brought some challenges when it comes to getting spare keys or key shells. This key shell here uses the TOY48 style key blade and suits remotes with 1 button on the side as shown in the photos. 

This style remote key was unsed on a number of Japanese models including:

ALTEZZA / ALTEZZA GITA GXE1# JCE1# SXE10 10/98-07/05

VISTA / VISTA ARDEO AZV5# SV5# ZZV50 06/98-07/03

If your original key shell is damage you don't need to replace your entire remote key. This replacement 1 button remote key shell will allow you to swap over the remote module and transponder chip from your broken key to a new case and once the blade it cut to match you will essentially have a new key.

If you come into our East Victoria Park workshop we will be happy to cut the key, swap over your case and test your battery, while you wait. It is always best to have the car present when getting the key cut so it can be properly tested.

If you do not live close by you can of course order this key shell and take it to your local key cutting shop and have them cut the blade to match your existing key. Then you can swap the remote module into the new shell and you are up and running.

There are lots of cheap key shells on the market and we have tested lots of other brands but this key shell is definitely the best quality replacement we have tested. The machining of the key blade is very exact and so the key works well once it is cut correctly. A variance of even as little as 0.01mm can make a huge difference to how well a key works and so it is vital to get your key cut at a reputable key cutter who regularly calibrates their key machine.

It is very important to use a quality screw driver when doing this as the screw in this keys is very small and over tightening the screw will damage the new shell.
