Mitsubishi Lancer 2019 onward - 3 button replacement key shell

This Mitsubishi compatible 3 button key shell can be used to replace your broken key shell as long as the key profile shape matches your key. If your current key shell is broken or missing buttons this shell is the ideal solution for you. 

We see lots of broken Mitsubishi key shells where buttons fall out or the key blade breaks away from the plastic head of the key. This shell is a great way to save money by only replacing the shell not the remote and transponder chip. 

To open the remote part you will need to remove the screw and then using a knife blade gently prise it open along the edge near the key blade. Take care to not drop the very small black ceramic transponder chip that is attached to the back cover. Without this your car will not start. Once open you can place the remote and transponder chip in the new shell, secure the back and then have the key blade cut to match your original.

Please note the key blade is moulded into the plastic shell and so you cannot swap this for your old one, it must be cut to match.

If you come into our East Victoria Park workshop we will be happy to cut the key, swap over your case and test your battery while you wait. It is always best to have the car present when getting the key cut so it can be properly tested.

If you do not live close by you can of course order this key shell and take it to your local key cutting shop and have them cut the blade to match your existing key. Then you can swap the remote module into the new shell and you are up and running.

There are lots of cheap key shells on the market and we have tested lots of other brands but this key shell is definitely one of the best quality replacements we have tested. The machining of the key blade is very exact and so the key works well once it is cut correctly. A variance of even as little as 0.01mm can make a huge difference to how well a key works and so it is vital to get your key cut at a reputable key cutter who regularly calibrates their key machine.
