MG MGF Lucas 3TXB 17TN genuine 2 button 315 MHz remote plip

This OEM 17TN Lucas 3TXB 2 button remote control is mostly referred to a plip. The Lucas 3TXB remote was predominantly used on the Landrover Defender but also on other models including:

MG Rover - MGF 

Land Rover: Freelander 1
Land Rover Defender - 1987- onwards
Land Rover Discovery 1 - 1989 - 1998 (from VIN YA184648)

It is important to note that this remote transmits on 315 MHz.

DO NOT RELY ON THE DETAIL ON THE BACK OF THE CASE AS THE CASE MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND SO IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO READ THE FREQUENCY TO CONFIRM WHICH REMOTE YOU NEED.

There are other models including Frelander, Defender and Discovery models that used a 433 MHz remote which usually have the part number YWX101220 and so this remote will not work with those vehicles.

If you are not certain it is always best to check with us before ordering or get a part number from the dealer as the information on the case and circuit board can be confusing. You can also have the frequency checked at your local key cutting shop and if it is 315MHz then this remote will be the one you need.

Programming this plip to the vehicle requires specific equipment which we have at our East Victoria Park workshop and you can book in your vehicle by calling us on (08) 6110 2693. We generally need the vehicle for around 25 minutes to complete the job.

This remote operates the immobiliser in the vehicle and so it is vital that you have a reliable working remote at all times.

These remotes are becomming much more difficult to source and once sold out we may not be able to re-stock them.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
